Apple TV+ sci-fi hit Silo isn’t back on the streamer until Friday, but you can get a glimpse of season two‘s first five minutes on YouTube right now. The episode is titled “The Engineer,” and for fans who’ve been waiting to see what’s next for Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) after season one’s cliffhanger of a finale, it’s a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.
We get an action-packed look at the past as well as Juliette in the still-mysterious present, in an episode whose only description is: “Juliette finds sanctuary in a silo long ago destroyed by war, thinking she’s alone.”
Based on the Hugh Howey novels, Silo also stars Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethrwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.
Here’s the official description of Silo, which gives you a sense of what it’s about without revealing too much: “Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.”
If you watched season one and need a refresher, Apple TV+ has dropped a recap to get you back up to speed on where things stand:
If that sounds intriguing and you’re a Silo newcomer, you still have time to get your dystopian ducks in a row; season one of Silo is streaming on Apple TV+, so you can binge it all ahead of season two’s arrival Friday, November 15. It’s the rare show in the streaming era to get a weekly rollout, so after the premiere there’ll be a new installment every Friday through January 17.
